Tensions are high as joint U.S.-South Korean military exercises get underway branded by the North as a dangerous provocation.

North Korea last week said it was preparing to launch a satellite which its neighbours fear is a ballistic missile test but Pyongyang is warning that any attempt to shoot the weapon down would be viewed as an act of war.
